Ah Ye! Jealous down serious… South African celebs are really making us proud. Not so long ago, Pearl Thusi, Bonang Matheba, Trevor Noah, Black Coffee just to name a few were flying our flag high.
Today, our favourite actress best known for her leading role as Miriam in the 2005 Oscar-winning feature film Tsotsi, Terry Pheto took to Instagram to express her gratitude on her nomination.
The actress has scored herself a British Independent Film Award nomination for her role in the movie A United Kingdom.
She is nominated against Naomi Harris and other international stars.
Pheto wrote:
Words fail me. So honoured to be nominated alongside the most incredible talent in the world. Thank you @iammaasante for believing in me and making this one of the most memorable journeys of my career. #BIFA2016.
Other local celebrities that included the likes of Motshidisi Mohono, Gert Johan Coetzee and K Naomi congratulated Terry on the nomination.
Here at Jozi Streets have no doubt that you will bring it HOME, we are behind you all the way girl.
Once again, Félicitations à vous (Congrats in French)
